The Challanges Muslims Face in America

Muslims in the U.S. must overcome the following challenges in order to have a strong voice:

• Muslims need to overcome the disunity in their community. The reason for disunity is the fact that Muslims from different cultural backgrounds cannot communicate with each other. In order for them to communicate, they need to understand and accept each other's cultural differences.

• Muslims need to remember that when any decision is concerned, the Islamic point of view should be considered before the cultural one. Islam should have the priority, since it is the message of the Creator of everything. Islam is the collection of the directions of Allah, the most important in binding human beings.

• Muslims should tolerate each other as long as no rules of Islam are violated, no fardh outlawed, no haram acts committed. The free area (mubah) must be utilized for solely strengthening the ties and inter-relations of Muslim groups here, in the United States, then elsewhere in the world.

• Muslims must not forget that this world is transient (fani); the Everlasting one is only Allah. So, nobody must think that he has the standard criteria and his views are to be accepted by everyone.

• No Muslim should forget that the worldly life is very short and the Day of Judgement is imminent. That day everyone will be questioned, and their accounts will be taken by the Absolute Judge, Allah. No help, no assistance or intercession will work except with His permission.
